The mission of the Center for Cultural Community is to build and cultivate support for creative people. We open avenues for assistance, provide access to knowledge, and foster opportunities for connection. One strategy available to us in the pursuit of our mission is via creative placemaking*. By anchoring ourselves in a physical location, our mission can breathe life into our city, bringing the community together and setting us all to work on a common goal.

We dream of a space that can provide us not just with a space to work, but can serve as a place to connect and collaborate, where we can find inspiration and provide encouragement. The CCC recently participated in the Artspace Immersion program, designed to support organizations that are planning for a space-related project. Upon completion and thanks to the generosity of the Windgate Foundation, the CCC earned a $5,000 grant to kickstart those plans. We will use the funding to locate and secure our first physical home.

We are asking our donors and neighbors to help us match that grant to ensure that we're able to realize this dream to its fullest extent. Doubling our funding will help us make a truly meaningful home for our work and will sustain that home for the foreseeable future.

This party is a celebration of our progress as a new organization and a call to action we hope will inspire you to help us reach this next milestone. Even if you are unable to attend, please consider making a contribution to help us meet our goal! Give via PayPal today.

*As defined in the influential study by cultural researchers Ann Markusen and Anne Gadwa in 2010, "in creative placemaking, partners from public, private, non-profit, and community sectors strategically shape the physical and social character of a neighborhood, town, city, or region around arts and cultural activities. Creative placemaking animates public and private spaces, rejuvenates structures and streetscapes, improves local business viability and public safety, and brings diverse people together to celebrate, inspire, and be inspired."

- NOTE - Proof of COVID-19 vaccination will be required for entry. Please bring a physical or digital copy of your vaccination card with you to the event - recent, negative COVID-19 tests will not be accepted as proof of vaccination.
